Description and condition:

Black cloth hardback with dustcover, 8 1/2 by 12 inch (folio), 292 pp., with b/w distribution maps and 16 pages of colour illustrations.
Slight edgewear and indentations to the dustcover. Slight edgewear to the boards, otherwise very good or better. From the personal library of the late scientific explorer and ecologist Colin Trapnell OBE (1907-2004).


Contents:

The book gives a brief description of Somerset, a history of its botanists, and lists good botanising areas. The main part covers a study of the flora, including about 2,300 species with distribution maps.
